Cameroon head coach: End of the Road for Volker Finke?

His contract expires on the 24th May 2015, and yet Mr. Finke does not know what awaits him. The poor results encountered by the National team under his leadership these last months are not helping him either. We can still remember the poor performance of the Indomitable Lions in the Brazil World Cup where the Lions were eliminated in the first round of the competition after defeats from Mexico(0-1), Croatia(0-4), and Brazil(1-4). Mr. Finke deliberately decided to go along with injured players to the World Cup (more than 10 injured players according to some members of the medical staff who were later sacked).
At the AFCON in Equatorial Guinea, this was the occasion for Volker Finke to buy his head. But he again went astray from the objective. In the surprise of many, the Indomitable Lions were yet again eliminated in the first round after two draws from Mali(1-1), Guinea Conakry(1-1), and a fatal defeat against Cote d’Ivoire (0-1). Rumors of corruption, influence of some players’ agents, the lack of charisma in some internal problems, all affected the German coach who could not manage them. The divorce seems to be at the door knocking.
A mail in that sense was transmitted on Thursday to the FECAFOOT by the Minister of Sports and Physical Education to inform to the technical department of FECAFOOT that the contract with the German technician will not be renewed. According to Mboafootball.com, “This mail is a reply to another previously addressed by Joseph Owona to his hierarchy to let them know about his will to get rid of the German coach.
Even though there is nothing for the moment, and it’s not official yet, many names are circulating already in the press as being among the people who might succeed the German coach at the head of the Indomitable Lions. We know already that Luiz Fernadez, a former coach of Paris Saint Germain, Atletico Madrid, Espanyol Barcelona, and Betis Sevilla won’t be coming to Cameroon as some opinions made us believe, for he engaged himself with Sily National of Guinea Conakry. Two other technicians are still in a short list which, according to our well informed source, is circulating between the Minister of Sports and Physical Education (MINSEP) and the FECAFOOT. The two technicians are Giovanni Luciano Guiseppe Trapattoni, 76 years old from Italy, and Frederic Antonetti, 53 years old from France.

Forests at War: The Global North's Ambition vs. The Global South's Fight for Survival! Reflection on Forest Governance.

Some reflections on Forest Governance, by Kisife F Jude Forests are not just the lungs of the earth, they have become battlegrounds where the interest of the Global North clash with the survival instincts of the Global South.
