Geremi Njitap, Cameroon player , who holds titles of the AFCON 2000 and 2002 winner and the Olympic champion, claimed that Nigerians must give their total support to Stephen Keshi, who was re-appointed recently as the Super Eagles coach.
“I’m happy for him because they gave him another contract, it means that they trust him. But they have to support him. It’s not only him that has to make the difference,” Geremi told press at the Champion The Match session in Lagos.
After Super Eagles failed to show results at the last world cup in Brazil, Keshi spent his last ten months without a job, but recently he was given his second chance to bring senior national team to new records.
Since 2002, when Cameroon won their fourth Africa champion title, they have dropped to the bottom of the football charts. Now Cameroon takes 48th place in the world ranks and is ranked 11 spots worse than Cape Verde islands.
